Stage 7: Besançon - Strasbourg (FINISH!)

Yes, we made it! Even though you couldn’t imagine a rougher day than this and both the car and us were realy suffering from very heavy rainfall and low temperatures (especially on top of Le Ballon D’Alsace) we made it to the chequered flag at the finish line in Strasbourg, wich felt like a warming shower. |

The final day mixed up a lot of last nights positions. Möllenkamp let the 300 SL takeover the first position (by a lousy 3 point-difference), we managed to stay in advance of Jaap en Hansje (joehoeee!) and and thanks to an onboard misunderstanding on Alwins’ AH, they dropped back were they should be: right behind us, hahaa. (We cannot thank you enough, Joe, but will 20-times be enough? Sorry Alwyn:). |

At the pricegiving dinner in the beautifull center of Strasbourg we not only received cups for our fourth position, but an additional one for beïng the most noisy team on the Grand Raid, olé olé olé oléééé, Jean-Paul! And: congretulations to you and your team for succesfully organising this first Three-Kilo-Rally! |

*without the penalties Job and Han became on the day they were involved in the accident, for not beeïng in on time, they would have taken the third overal position. And without their gearbox problem júst before the last regularity, they would have token the Big Cup with only 409 points!!! |
